Our client is a market leader within the care industry, working with 43 local authorities and county councils, providing direct services to HM Government Home Office. JOB PURPOSE

To join a team offering a comprehensive residential service for young people with learning disabilities and associated challenging behaviour aged between 10-18 years, ensuring their physical, social, emotional care and development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Join a team of residential care staff ensuring safe and appropriate care practices are maintained.
  • Support the Manager in all aspects of the home’s operation while maintaining positive childcare practice.
  • Provide a safe, warm, and supportive environment for residents, involved in planning and organisation.
  • Maintain a regular recording system for each young person, assist in care plans and report publication.
  • Attend review and planning meetings as required.
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and review of service policy.
  • Ensure care staff conduct themselves within the guidelines of the home in line with policy documents and care plans.
  • Delegate tasks to residential care staff and co-ordinate daily routines, participating in household duties.
  • Participate in general activities such as cycling, swimming, walking, and games, using personal skills to maximise opportunities for residents.
  • Attend regular supervision sessions, staff meetings, and training sessions as required.
  • Accept responsibility for necessary funds in carrying out duties.
  • Administer medication to children as required and complete all related paperwork and records.
  • Undertake sleeping-in duties as required.
  • Comply with policies, procedures, and practices of the home, responding to emergencies as they arise.
  • Provide a positive role model for colleagues and the young people resident.
