The successful candidate will support children's learning, development and wellbeing in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment while gaining valuable experience and developing their skills within the early years sector.
You will work alongside experienced practitioners, supporting children's daily routines, play-based learning and development, while receiving guidance and support to help you progress towards a recognised qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide warm, caring and attentive support to children throughout the day.
- Support children's learning and development through play and engaging activities.
- Help create a safe, stimulating and welcoming nursery environment.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
- Assist with children's daily routines, including mealtimes, toileting and personal care where appropriate.
- Support the planning and delivery of age-appropriate activities.
- Encourage children's confidence, independence and social development.
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety and nursery policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with the nursery team and learn from experienced practitioners.
- Show a willingness to develop knowledge and skills and work towards an Early Years/Childcare qualification.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced: Has previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting.
- Motivated: Keen to gain a recognised Early Years/Childcare qualification.
- Caring: Patient, nurturing and passionate about working with young children.
- Reliable: Punctual, dependable and committed to the role.
- Enthusiastic: Willing to learn, develop and take on new responsibilities.
- A team player: Able to work positively alongside colleagues and follow guidance.
- Child-focused: Committed to providing high-quality care and supporting children's development.
- Safety-conscious: Understands the importance of safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
No formal Early Years/Childcare qualification is required at this stage, but previous nursery experience is essential, along with a genuine commitment to working towards a relevant qualification.
Working Pattern
Monday to Friday, 9:00am–1:00pm, term time only.
If you have nursery experience, a passion for working with young children and are ready to take the next step in your early years career by gaining a qualification, we would love to hear from you!
