We are a leading provider of power electronics and electrical drive technologies and seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Business Development Manager to support the growth of our Ports & Shore Power business across the UK, Ireland, and Northern Europe. This role will focus on expanding electrical systems opportunities within the ports and maritime infrastructure sector, with particular emphasis on port electrification and shore power solutions. The successful candidate will help establish the business as a trusted partner for port operators, terminal owners, EPC contractors, and regulatory bodies as the industry moves toward lower-carbon and fully electrified operations.
Customer & Industry Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with:
- Port authorities and terminal operators
- EPC contractors and engineering consultancies
- Utilities, distribution network operators, and technology partners
- Represent the business at maritime, ports, and electrification industry conferences and events across the region.
Key Accountabilities
- Growth and expansion of the electrical systems business within ports and shore power applications.
- Delivery of technically robust and commercially sustainable solutions.
- High levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Strong collaboration across regional and functional teams.
Experience & Knowledge
Essential
- Demonstrated experience in business development, technical sales, or solutions engineering within electrical power systems, industrial infrastructure, or engineered projects.
- Strong understanding of medium- and high-voltage electrical systems, power electronics, and industrial electrical infrastructure.
- Experience working with complex engineered solutions and long sales cycles.
- Ability to engage effectively with both technical specialists and senior commercial stakeholders.
Desirable
- Previous involvement in shore power, cold ironing, or port electrification projects.
- Knowledge of port operations, marine infrastructure, or heavy industrial sectors.
- Familiarity with UK, Irish, and Northern European electrical standards and grid compliance requirements.
- Understanding of sustainability initiatives, decarbonisation policies, and funding mechanisms within the maritime industry.
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status or professional accreditation would be beneficial, though not essential.
Travel Requirements
