Swindon Borough Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our dedicated team focusing on Children with Disabilities. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate professional to make a real difference in the lives of children and their families.

As a key member of our team, you will work collaboratively with families, schools, and other agencies to provide high-quality support and interventions tailored to the unique needs of children with disabilities. In this role, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify the needs of children with disabilities and their families.
  • Developing, implementing, and reviewing care plans in partnership with families and other professionals.
  • Providing direct support and guidance to children and families, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation in line with statutory requirements and organizational policies.
  • Participating in multi-agent meetings and contributing to safeguarding procedures.

The ideal candidate will possess essential qualifications and skills, including:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant experience working with children with disabilities and their families.
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to collaborative working.
