As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for expanding our net new customer base by working inbound leads and generating outbound leads. You will identify and nurture new business opportunities, working the full sales cycle from qualifying leads, negotiating with customers to closing opportunities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing strategic plans, arranging and delivering presentations and demos.
- Working closely with sales and marketing teams to meet sales targets.
- Maintaining a clean and accurate, up-to-date pipeline of opportunities in Salesforce.
- Accurately forecasting a pipeline of initial opportunities and efficiently working the pipeline to achieve sales targets.
- Managing the full sales lifecycle, from qualifying leads to closing opportunities.
- Collaborating with other sales department members, as well as legal, operations, and product teams to provide feedback and ensure a smooth customer experience.
- Finding and contacting new clients through cold outreach and working inbound leads from net new prospects.
- Pitching products to new prospects, including preparing and presenting proposals and pricing.
- Communicating the value of our products to prospects, gathering feedback, and addressing concerns.
- Liaising with prospects via emails and phone calls, ensuring all communication is professional and appropriate.
- Staying informed on product knowledge and sales skills through formal training and self-study.
Skills:
- Strong commercial acumen.
- 3+ years of business to business sales experience.
- Experience in the R&D tax sector.
- Strong ability to assess and prioritise work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presentations, negotiations, and relationship building.
- Skilled in negotiating with clients and partners to close deals and establish mutually beneficial agreements.
- Deep understanding of the company's products, services, industry, and competitive landscape.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a sales team and with other departments.
