ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a highly motivated, energetic and relationship-driven Associate Director/Director to join Lendable’s Capital Solutions team and be accountable for growing Lendable’s investor base across Europe.

This role will have a strong focus on new investor origination and capital raising, with responsibility for identifying, developing and converting new relationships across institutional and private capital markets.

The successful candidate will leverage their existing network while proactively building new relationships with prospective investors across key European markets.

The role will focus on investors including pension funds, insurers, family offices, wealth platforms, asset managers and other sophisticated private and institutional investors.

The primary objective is to generate new capital for Lendable’s investment strategies and contribute to the long-term growth of AUM across the firm.

Acting as a senior representative of Lendable externally, the Director will own investor relationships through the fundraising process, working closely with senior leadership, Investment Solutions, Marketing, Legal and Operations to ensure a seamless and high-quality investor experience from initial engagement through to close.

Responsibilities

  • Capital Raising and Investor Origination
  • Develop and execute a targeted investor origination strategy across Europe, aligned with Lendable’s fundraising objectives.
  • Identify and build relationships with prospective institutional and private investors across priority European markets.
  • Leverage existing investor networks while proactively developing new relationships and sources of capital.
  • Originate and qualify new fundraising opportunities across Lendable’s fund and investment platform.
  • Build and maintain a high-quality pipeline of prospective investors, managing opportunities through the full fundraising cycle.
  • Own investor relationships from initial introduction through engagement, due diligence, commitment and close.
  • Develop a deep understanding of investor mandates, allocation priorities and capital deployment objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce investors to the most relevant Lendable products and strategies.
  • Maintain visibility of pipeline activity, investor engagement and fundraising opportunities across the business.
  • Deliver against agreed fundraising and AUM growth objectives.
  • Investor Engagement and Fundraising
  • Lead investor meetings, presentations, calls and fundraising discussions with prospective investors.
  • Communicate Lendable’s investment proposition, fund strategies, track record, impact credentials and differentiated approach to emerging market private credit.
  • Develop tailored investor approaches based on individual investment objectives and requirements.
  • Coordinate investor due diligence processes, working closely with Investment Solutions, Investment, Legal, Operations and other relevant teams.
  • Support and, where appropriate, lead the preparation of investor materials, presentations, proposals, data rooms and responses to due diligence requests.
  • Develop trusted relationships with senior investment professionals and executive decision-makers within target investor organisations.
  • Represent Lendable at relevant investor meetings, conferences, industry events and other market forums.
  • Maintain a high level of engagement and momentum throughout the fundraising process.

  • Develop a strong understanding of the European institutional and private investment landscape.
  • Map priority investor segments, institutions and decision-makers across target markets.
  • Identify emerging investor trends, capital allocation themes and opportunities relevant to Lendable’s strategies.
  • Gather, analyse and communicate market intelligence and investor feedback to support fundraising and strategic decision-making.
  • Identify new channels and approaches for accessing institutional, private wealth and impact-focused capital.
  • Build Lendable’s profile and network within the European private markets and impact investment community.
  • Strategic Collaboration
  • Work closely with senior leadership on fundraising strategy and priorities.
  • Partner with the Investment Solutions team to develop compelling and differentiated investor propositions.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on investor-facing materials, thought leadership and fundraising campaigns.
  • Work with Investment, Legal and the Operations teams to ensure investor opportunities progress efficiently through due diligence and closing.
  • Act as a trusted voice of the investor internally by sharing market intelligence, investor sentiment and feedback.
  • Contribute to product development and fundraising strategy based on investor requirements and market opportunities.
  • Support the transition of newly secured investors into long-term relationship management following close.

Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Investment Management or a related discipline. A postgraduate qualification or CFA, CAIA or MBA would be advantageous.
  • 8-10+ years experience in institutional fundraising, capital raising, business development, private markets, asset management, private credit, private equity, investment banking or an equivalent financial services environment.
  • Demonstrated track record of raising capital from institutional and/or private investors.
  • Strong existing network across European institutional investors, family offices, wealth platforms, insurers, pension funds, asset managers and/or development finance institutions.
  • Proven ability to originate new investor relationships and convert relationships into investment commitments.
  • Experience managing the end-to-end sales cycle, from initial origination through to due diligence and close.
  • Strong understanding of private credit, alternative investments and institutional fundraising.
  • Experience raising capital for emerging markets, impact investing, private credit or other differentiated investment strategies would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience working across multiple international markets and with globally distributed stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial judgement and an entrepreneurial approach to business development.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple investor relationships and fundraising processes simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial and globally distributed organisation.
