A new pharmacy supply and dispensing provision is being created to service wards and community services at RDaSH. This has created the opportunity to build a new team to make it happen. This is a unique opportunity to be part of something from the ground up: shaping a modern, efficient, and patient-focused pharmacy service that directly supports the care delivered across our hospitals and community teams.

We’re creating a dedicated dispensary hub at our Tickhill Road site in Doncaster to improve access to medicines, enhance patient experience, and strengthen resilience across our supply chain. You’ll be joining a forward-thinking team that values innovation, professional growth, and collaboration which will enable you to play a key role in improving how patients receive their medication.

Looking ahead, the Trust intends to establish a wholly owned subsidiary by 2027 to take this service to the next level. Initially you will be employed by Flourish Enterprises and will be transferred to the new subsidiary on the same terms & conditions, once the business has been registered. Over time the business may expand into new markets such as community pharmacy and care home services, creating even more opportunities for career development and innovation.

If you’re passionate about making a difference, helping to design and deliver a pharmacy service that puts patients and professionals first and want to be part of an ambitious journey from day one we’d love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

  • Play a central leadership role in the day-to-day running of the new pharmacy/dispensary service at RDaSH
  • Report to the Superintendent Pharmacist
  • Be responsible for managing dispensary operations
  • Efficiently ensure the safe and timely supply of medicines to wards and community teams
  • Embed high standards of medicines governance and patient safety from the outset
  • Lead, support and develop a team of pharmacy technicians and support staff
  • Maintain robust systems
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and professional standards and local procedures
  • Be a key point of expertise within the service
  • Manage supply disruptions to contribute to service improvement
  • Act as a trusted professional resource for clinical colleagues

This role offers the opportunity to help build and shape a modern dispensary service from the ground up. Success will be defined by a well-organised and resilient operation with a confident and well-supported team and a dispensary service that consistently delivers a safe patient-focused experience while adapting to the evolving needs of the organisation and the communities it serves.
