Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant passionate about supporting children with additional needs? Flourish Education is working closely with a welcoming Primary School in Wednesbury, who is seeking a dedicated SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support in their SEN hub. This is a full‑time, long‑term position, starting in September and continuing until July 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a Year 1 child with complex needs
  • Support the child’s learning, emotional regulation, and social development
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider SEN team to implement individual support strategies
  • Help maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
  • Support the child both within the SEN hub and in classroom‑based activities where appropriate

Required Skills and Experience

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Previous experience supporting children with complex needs, ideally on a 1:1 basis
  • Confidence in managing and reducing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies
  • Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with young children
  • Good knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum
  • A DBS on the update service, or issued within the last 12 months
  • A minimum of two excellent references
