Are you an experienced and supportive Teaching Assistant looking for a full‑time role starting in September? A welcoming Primary School in Wednesbury is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work as a general classroom support assistant within a lower Key Stage 2 classroom on a long‑term basis starting in September.

This Teaching Assistant role is a full‑time position, supporting pupils across the classroom and working closely with the class teacher to ensure all children are fully engaged in learning. There is a high percentage of SEND needs within the class, so previous SEN experience is highly desirable, although there are no 1:1 support requirements.

This school is looking for an experienced, proactive, and nurturing Teaching Assistant who can build strong relationships with pupils and support children with a range of additional needs.

Responsibilities
  • Providing general classroom support within a lower Key Stage 2 setting.
  • Supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs within whole‑class activities.
  • Assisting the class teacher with delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Supporting pupils’ learning, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Helping to adapt activities to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Encouraging pupil participation, independence, and confidence.
  • Promoting a positive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff and the SENCO where required.
Qualifications
  • A minimum Level 2 qualification in a relevant field.
  • Previous experience working within a Primary School setting.
  • Prior experience supporting children with SEND.
  • A calm, patient, and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
