Flourish Education are currently recruiting Maths Graduates to work as Teaching Assistants, Maths Intervention Tutors and Cover Supervisors within secondary schools across Warwick and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for a Maths Graduate to gain practical experience within secondary education while supporting pupils to improve their confidence, understanding and attainment in Mathematics. Both part-time and flexible opportunities are available, with the potential for long-term and day-to-day work depending on your availability.

You could be supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis, working with small groups or helping pupils prepare for GCSE Maths examinations. There may also be opportunities to provide whole-class cover as a Cover Supervisor, giving you additional classroom experience and helping you develop your behaviour management and communication skills.

The role will involve:

  • Providing one-to-one and small-group Maths support
  • Delivering targeted Maths interventions
  • Supporting pupils who require additional help with Mathematics
  • Helping pupils prepare for GCSE Maths examinations
  • Supporting revision, booster and catch-up sessions
  • Working with pupils across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Helping pupils build confidence in Maths
  • Supporting pupils with SEN and additional learning needs
  • Breaking down mathematical concepts to make them accessible
  • Working alongside Maths teachers and wider school staff
  • Building positive relationships with pupils
  • Providing whole-class cover where required

Required Skills and Experience for this Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant role:

  • Maths degree or a related subject
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
  • UK school experience is desirable
  • Experience supporting KS3 and KS4 pupils
  • Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics
  • Ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN is desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate and engage pupils
  • Positive and patient approach
  • Reliable and flexible approach to work
  • An interest in progressing into teaching is desirable

Working for Flourish Education as a Teaching Assistant, you will receive:

  • £92.59 to £100 day rate, which equates to approximately £17,340 to £19,500 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year
