Overview
Opportunity in a GOOD Primary School based in Walsall, starting after half term and continuing until July. This inclusive and well-structured Primary School has a dedicated SEN HUB resource base that supports pupils with a wide range of additional and complex needs. This SEND Teacher role involves working with mixed SEN needs, including pupils who display challenging behaviour, within a specialist provision attached to a mainstream setting.
Responsibilities
- Full class responsibilities including planning, marking and assessment as a Class Teacher
- Teaching within the SEN HUB resource base, supporting pupils with mixed and complex SEN needs
- Managing and supporting pupils with challenging behaviour using clear, consistent strategies
- Delivering lessons in line with the National Curriculum where appropriate
- Teaching pupils across Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2)
- Working closely with the SENCO, support staff and wider Primary School team
Required Skills and Experience
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience working as a SEND Teacher, Primary Teacher or Class Teacher
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN and challenging behaviour
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum
- Excellent behaviour management skills
- Experience working within a mainstream Primary School or SEN provision
- A calm, resilient and consistent approach to behaviour management

- £168.80 to £232.57 per day, which equates to £32,916 to £45,352 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year
