Are you an experienced and driven Key Stage 2 Teacher looking for a part-time opportunity? Flourish Education are working in partnership with a welcoming Primary School in Tipton, who are seeking a Year 5 Class Teacher to join their team in September. This Year 5 Class Teacher role will start in the new academic year and will operate as part of a job share, working 3 days per week. This role is ideally suited to an experienced practitioner with strong Key Stage 2 experience who is confident with planning, teaching and assessment responsibilities.

The school offers a supportive and collaborative working environment, where staff work closely together to ensure consistency, high standards, and strong outcomes for all pupils. Planning is required for this role, alongside effective communication and coordination with the job share partner to ensure continuity for learners.

Responsibilities
  • Taking full responsibility for a Year 5 class on your working days, including planning, teaching, and assessments.
  • Delivering engaging, high-quality lessons in line with the KS2 curriculum.
  • Planning and preparing lessons to ensure continuity across the job share arrangement.
  • Using assessment data effectively to inform planning, identify gaps, and maximise pupil progress.
  • Creating a focused, structured and motivating classroom environment.
  • Maintaining high expectations for attainment, behaviour and presentation.
  • Collaborating closely with your job share partner and wider teaching staff to ensure consistency in planning, assessment and moderation.
  • Building strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues to support pupils’ learning and development.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Substantial experience within Key Stage 2.
  • A secure understanding of the Year 5 curriculum.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively or within shared planning environments is highly desirable.
  • The ability to motivate, challenge and inspire learners.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A DBS on the Update Service or issued within the last 12 months.
  • A minimum of two excellent references.
