A two-form entry primary school in Tamworth is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026 through to March 2026. This is a part-time HLTA position, covering classes across EYFS, KS1, and KS2, offering valuable experience across all primary age groups. In this Higher Level Teaching Assistant role, you will play an important part in ensuring continuity of learning by leading whole-class sessions in the absence of the class teacher. Responsibilities
  • Delivering pre-planned lessons across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 in the absence of the class teacher
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively and promoting a positive learning environment
  • Supporting pupils' learning and engagement across a variety of subjects
  • Adapting teaching approaches to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional needs
  • Working closely with teaching staff to ensure consistency and continuity across classes
  • Providing feedback on pupil progress and classroom activities
Qualifications
  • HLTA status or equivalent qualifications and experience
  • Previous experience covering classes within a primary school setting
  • Strong behaviour management skills and confidence leading a class
