Are you a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a full-time role? A supportive and inclusive Primary School in Stourport is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September on a long-term contract. This is a full-time Teaching Assistant position based within the school’s SEN provision room, supporting children with additional learning needs.

In this SEN Teaching Assistant role, you will primarily work on a 1:1 basis with a Year 1 pupil with learning difficulties, providing tailored support to help them access the curriculum and make progress. You will also support within the SEN provision where required, working alongside other pupils with a range of additional needs. This school is looking for a patient, nurturing, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them to succeed in a structured and supportive environment.

Responsibilities
  • Providing 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil with learning difficulties.
  • Supporting other pupils within the SEN provision when required.
  • Adapting learning activities to meet the individual needs of the pupil.
  • Promoting a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and communication skills.
Qualifications
  • A minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN (ideally within a school setting).
  • A calm, patient, and adaptable approach.
  • Confidence supporting on a 1:1 basis and within small groups.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable pupils.
