In this role, you will play a key part in delivering engaging and effective lessons that support pupils’ academic progress and personal development. Working closely with the parallel Year 2 teacher and wider staff team, you will contribute to the planning and delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum.

As a Year 2 Class Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

• Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
• Taking full classroom responsibility including marking, assessment, and pupil progress monitoring.
• Creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all pupils can thrive.
• Working closely with the parallel Year 2 teacher to support shared planning and consistency across the year group.
• Managing classroom behaviour effectively in line with the school’s behaviour policy.
• Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.

To be successful in this Year 2 Class Teacher role, you will need:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Early Career Teacher (ECT) status.
• Previous experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2.
• Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and assessment expectations.
• Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
• A positive, proactive, and flexible approach to teaching.
• Availability to work full-time from as soon as possible until the end of the academic year in July.
