A warm and welcoming nursery in Stourbridge is seeking a dedicated Nursery Practitioner to join their team from September on a long-term contract, with potential for the role to extend into a permanent position. This rewarding position is based within the school’s 2–3 year old room, supporting young children at a crucial stage of their early development.
In this Nursery Practitioner role, you will play a key part in supporting children’s learning through play-based activities, helping to nurture their communication, social, and physical development. You will also supervise and engage children during outdoor play, ensuring a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment. There are some low-level SEN needs within the group, so a caring, attentive, and adaptable approach is essential. You will work closely with the nursery team to ensure each child’s individual needs are met and supported effectively.
Responsibilities- Supporting children aged 2–3 years with their learning and development through structured and play-based activities.
- Supervising and engaging children during outdoor play, promoting exploration and physical development.
- Providing personal care in a respectful and supportive manner.
- Supporting children with low-level SEN needs, adapting activities where necessary.
- Encouraging positive behaviour, independence, and social interaction.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
- Observing, monitoring, and contributing to children’s developmental progress.
- A relevant Early Years qualification (Level 2 or above).
- Previous experience working within an early years or nursery setting.
- Experience providing personal care.
- An understanding of supporting children with additional needs.
- A caring, patient, and proactive approach.
- Availability to work full-time from after the Easter break until the end of the academic year, with potential to continue in September.
- Competitive Salary – £18,049 – £19,500 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year.

- KCSIE‑compliant safeguarding and prevent duty training inclusive of modules relating to legislation, FGM and abuse.
