Are you a patient and resilient Teaching Assistant looking for a part-time role supporting an SEN student? A nurturing and inclusive first school in Droitwich is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide morning support for a Year 1 pupil with an EHCP and behavioural needs. This is a part-time role, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am–12:30pm, starting after the half-term break.

This SEN role is based outside of the classroom, delivering structured, tailored support to help the child regulate their behaviour, engage positively with learning, and develop key social and emotional skills. You will play a vital role in providing consistency, routine, and reassurance to support the child’s individual needs.

The school is looking for a calm, caring, and resilient Teaching Assistant who is confident supporting children with behavioural needs and understands the importance of a structured and nurturing approach.

Responsibilities
  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil with an EHCP.
  • Supporting behaviour regulation and emotional wellbeing in an out-of-class setting.
  • Delivering structured activities and learning tasks tailored to the child’s needs.
  • Supporting routines, transitions, and reintegration into class where appropriate.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and engagement using consistent strategies.
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and wider support team.
  • Maintaining a safe, calm, and supportive environment.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or 1:1 support with children with additional or behavioural needs.
  • Experience supporting pupils with EHCPs is desirable.
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
  • The ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
  • A consistent and proactive attitude.
