SEND Teacher opportunity in a GOOD Primary School based in Walsall, starting after half term on a full-time maternity cover. This welcoming, community-focused Primary School is well known for its inclusive ethos, strong leadership team and commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs. The school provides a calm, structured and nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued and motivated to learn. This SEND Teacher role focuses on teaching small groups of pupils with a range of SEN needs within a mainstream setting.

Job Role

  • Full class responsibilities including planning, marking and assessment as a Class Teacher
  • Teaching small groups of children with SEN including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs and learning difficulties
  • Delivering engaging lessons aligned with the National Curriculum
  • Supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2)
  • Working closely with the SENCO and wider Primary School team
  • Maintaining high expectations through excellent behaviour management

Required Skills and Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working as a SEND Teacher, Primary Teacher or Class Teacher
  • Confident teaching across KS1 and KS2
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • Experience within a mainstream Primary School environment
  • A nurturing, flexible and inclusive approach to teaching
