Flourish Education is recruiting for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Primary School in Coleshill, working with Key Stage 2 pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, challenging behaviour, and additional learning needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by supporting pupils through 1:1 and small-group interventions, helping them develop confidence, resilience, and positive relationships with learning. You will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff within a nurturing environment that values consistency, teamwork, and pupil wellbeing. This full-time Teaching Assistant role is due to start in September and will continue until December, working Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 15:30.

The SEN Teaching Assistant Role:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND, including MLD, ADHD, ADD, and SEMH needs
  • Supporting pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour strategies, and individual learning targets
  • Working alongside teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to support pupil progress
  • Helping to create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and resilience in pupils
  • Supporting personal care or physical needs where required

We welcome applications from candidates with experience as:

  • SEN Teaching Assistant, SEND TA, Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, 1:1 TA, or Behaviour Mentor
  • Those who have worked in special schools, PRUs, alternative provision, or inclusive mainstream settings
  • Candidates with a strong understanding of SEND and effective behaviour support strategies

To be successful, you will need:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • A commitment to creating positive outcomes for pupils
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Team Teach training is desirable but not essential

Working as a SEN Teaching Assistant for Flourish Education, you will receive:

  • £92.59 - £120 per day depending on experience, equivalent to £18,055.05 - £23,400 per annum based on working 5 days per week for a full school year
