We’re recruiting for EYFS SEN Teaching Assistants to support nursery‑aged children in a specialist early years SEN setting in Birmingham. You’ll work with children with a range of needs, including PD, non‑verbal Cerebral Palsy, SLCN, HI and VI, providing personalised, nurturing support in calm, ‘home‑from‑home’ learning spaces.
Children learn in small groups with tailored support from an Early Years Teacher and a dedicated SEN TA. You’ll help promote communication, early learning, sensory play and independence, while encouraging positive peer interaction. A specialist team including SALT, Physio works closely with staff to meet each child’s individual needs.

The SEN Teaching Assistant Role:
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with PD, VI, HI, SCLN, non‑verbal needs and Cerebral Palsy.
- Work with teachers, social workers and care workers to support individual EHCP targets.
- Help maintain a safe, calm and nurturing environment that supports positive behaviour and engagement.
- Assist with personal care or communication needs where required.
- Promote independence, confidence and emotional resilience in all learners.
- Carry out personal care routines with dignity and sensitivity, ensuring each child’s comfort, safety and wellbeing.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will receive a £150 welcome bonus*, paid automatically once you’ve completed 30 consecutive working days in your role. *Bonus applies to this full‑time role only, and terms and conditions apply.
- £88.92 – £120 per day depending on experience, which equates to £17,940 – £23,400 based on working 5 days a week for a full school year.
