We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teacher for a long‑term role based in Kidderminster, working within an alternative provision setting. This provision delivers high‑quality education to pupils aged 11–17, aiming to re‑engage the pupils who have needs such as SEMH, ASD, ADHD, EBD and challenging behaviour.
In this full‑time position (Monday to Friday, 8:15 am – 3:30 pm), you will support and teach pupils with a range of additional needs, including SEMH and EBD. Many learners may present challenging behaviours and often work below age‑related expectations, so we are looking for someone who is confident in promoting emotional regulation, encouraging positive engagement, and establishing consistent, structured learning routines.

Required Skills and Experience
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
- Strong understanding of SEMH and MLD needs and experience supporting pupils who may display emotional or behavioural challenges, with the ability to implement effective regulation strategies and deliver personalised, therapeutic support approaches.
- Background in working within a specialist school, PRU, or inclusive mainstream setting, supporting pupils with behavioural, social and emotional needs.
- Familiarity with strategies for managing behaviour and supporting children with emotional and behavioural challenges.
- Confidence in planning and delivering differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs and learning outcomes.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of safeguarding practice

Salary
- £31,650 – £45,352 per annum based on working 5 days a week until the end of term
- Holiday Pay – 12.07 % of your day rate is accrued into your holiday pot

We are currently supporting an alternative provision based in Kidderminster, providing high‑quality education to pupils aged 11–17. The setting supports some of the most vulnerable and disillusioned learners across Wyre Forest, Hagley and Dudley, many of whom have moderate learning difficulties and additional needs, including SEMH, EBD, ADHD, ASD and associated behavioural challenges. The provision offers a nurturing, highly structured environment where pupils are supported to re‑engage with learning, develop positive coping strategies and build confidence both academically and socially.
The provision is conveniently located for professionals commuting from areas such as Wyre Forest, Hagley, Dudley and the wider West Midlands region. With good transport links and on‑site parking available, the setting is easily accessible whether travelling by car or public transport.
