We are looking for enthusiastic

Science Graduates to support pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4.

The role could involve supporting pupils individually or in small groups, delivering Science interventions, helping with GCSE revision or providing additional support to pupils who need help with particular areas of the Science curriculum.

With part-time, flexible and longer-term opportunities available, this role is ideal for graduates who want to gain experience within education while maintaining flexibility around their other commitments.

You may also have the opportunity to work as a Cover Supervisor, giving you experience across different year groups and helping you develop your classroom management, communication and behaviour management skills.

The role will involve

  • Providing one-to-one Science support
  • Working with small groups of pupils
  • Delivering targeted Science interventions
  • Supporting KS3 and KS4 pupils
  • Supporting GCSE Science revision and booster sessions
  • Helping pupils prepare for GCSE examinations
  • Supporting Biology, Chemistry and Physics where appropriate
  • Helping pupils develop confidence and engagement in Science
  • Supporting pupils who have gaps in their subject knowledge
  • Supporting pupils with SEN and additional learning needs
  • Making complex scientific concepts accessible to pupils
  • Working alongside Science teachers and wider school staff
  • Building positive relationships with pupils
  • Providing whole-class cover where required
  • Required Skills and Experience for this Science Graduate Teaching Assistant role:
  • Science degree or related subject
  • Strong Science subject knowledge
  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable
  • School experience is desirable
  • Experience supporting KS3 and KS4 pupils
  • Ability to explain scientific concepts clearly
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate young people
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN is desirable

  • Working for Flourish Education as a Teaching Assistant, you will receive:
  • £92.59 to £100 day rate, which equates to approximately £17,340 to £19,500 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year
