We are recruiting a Teaching Assistant role to work in a Primary School based in Rugeley. This Teaching Assistant's role is to work closely with the class teacher to support a safe, engaging and positive learning environment in a Year 6 class. The school is looking for a candidate with experience providing small groups and 1:1 intervention for core subjects. The school uses Read Write Inc, so experience with this phonics scheme would be desirable. This role will start January 2026 and continue to July 2026. The working hours are 8:30-3:30. There will also be a potential option for a temp-to-perm role.

Required Skills and Experience for this Teaching Assistant role:

  • Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification.
  • Good curriculum knowledge of Early Years.
  • Experience working in Nurseries or Primary Schools as a Teaching Assistant or LSA.
  • A DBS on the update service or issued in the last 12 months.
  • UK school experience.
  • A minimum of 2 excellent references.
  • Recent UK school experience.

  • Competitive Salary – Up to £60 per day depending on experience, which equates to £11,700 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year.
