Flourish Education is currently recruiting for a proactive Teaching Assistant to join an inclusive and supportive primary school in Redditch, working in their Reception class on a 1:1 support basis.

This part‑time position is set to begin in January until the end of the academic year.

You will be working every afternoon, from 12:30 - 3:30 pm, with a child in Reception with ASC.

Suitable candidates will have a good understanding of the Early Years curriculum, and be experienced in 1:1 support roles, and Autism.

Key Responsibilities for this Teaching Assistant role

  • Support a reception child with his learning, in the afternoons only.
  • Assist with planning and delivering engaging activities in line with the EYFS/ KS1 framework.
  • Promote positive behaviour and build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Help maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and wider team.

Essential Requirements to work as a Teaching Assistant

  • A minimum Level 2 qualification in Early Years or Supporting Teaching and Learning.
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Early Years practitioner in a UK school or nursery setting.
  • A solid understanding of child development and the EYFS/KS1 curriculum.
  • A DBS on the Update Service or issued within the last 12 months.
  • Two strong references that confirm your experience in a similar role.
