We are currently recruiting for a SEND Teacher to join a specialist SEN school in the Pershore area of Worcestershire. The school caters for pupils from early years up to further education years of age, providing high-quality education for pupils with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, and complex needs such as SLD, PMLD and ASD in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated SEND Teacher to deliver high-quality education across Primary and secondary classes, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including SLD, complex learning difficulties and ASD. In this role you will work within school policies and teaching standards as an SEN Teacher, supporting early years up to further education pupils with SLD and PMLD whose needs cannot be met in mainstream settings.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Deliver inclusive lessons for pupils with SEND, including SLD, PMLD and challenging behaviours
  • Plan and adapt learning to meet EHCP outcomes and individual needs
  • Track progress and implement targeted interventions
  • Create a nurturing, trauma-informed classroom environment
  • Build positive relationships and support behaviour regulation
  • Work with TAs, SENCOs, parents and external agencies
  • Manage support staff to maximise pupil outcomes
  • Maintain safeguarding, records and contribute to EHCP reviews

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
  • Experience in roles such as SENCo, SLD Teacher, SEND Teacher, or Inclusion Coordinator
  • Strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including SLD and ASD
  • Experience working in a special school, PRU, or inclusive mainstream setting
  • Familiarity with strategies for managing behaviour and supporting children with emotional and behavioural challenges
  • A nurturing, empathetic, and flexible teaching style
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding practices
