Are you an experienced and driven Primary Teacher looking for a full-time opportunity where you can truly make a difference? Flourish Education are working in partnership with a welcoming three-form entry primary school in Oldbury, who are seeking a dedicated Year 6 Class Teacher to join their team in September. This long-term role will run through to Christmas, with the potential to extend in the new year. It is ideally suited to an experienced practitioner with strong Upper Key Stage 2 knowledge and proven SATs experience, who can confidently lead a class through their final term and inspire them throughout the exam period.

The school offers a supportive and collaborative working environment, where planning and resources are shared across the three-form entry structure. Staff work closely together to ensure consistency, high standards, and strong outcomes for all pupils.

Responsibilities
  • Taking full responsibility for a Year 6 class, including planning, teaching, assessment and preparation for SATs.
  • Delivering engaging, high-quality lessons in line with the Upper KS2 curriculum, ensuring pupils are fully prepared for end-of-Key-Stage assessments.
  • Using assessment data effectively to inform planning, identify gaps, and maximise pupil progress.
  • Providing targeted intervention and revision support in the lead-up to SATs.
  • Creating a focused, structured and motivating classroom environment that supports pupils during exam season.
  • Maintaining high expectations for attainment, behaviour and presentation.
  • Collaborating with the parallel Year 6 teachers to ensure consistency in planning, assessment and moderation.
  • Building strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues to support pupils in their final primary term.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Substantial experience within Upper Key Stage 2, ideally in Year 6.
  • A secure understanding of the Year 6 curriculum and current SATs frameworks.
  • Proven experience preparing pupils for end-of-Key-Stage assessments.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • The ability to motivate, challenge and inspire learners during a demanding academic period.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A DBS on the Update Service or issued within the last 12 months.
  • A minimum of two excellent references.

  • A competitive salary of up to £223.62 per day which equates to £43,605 based on working 5 days a week for the full school year (M1–M6 Paid to scale).
