Are you an experienced and motivated KS1 Teacher looking for a full-time role where you can make a real difference? Flourish Education are working in partnership with a welcoming two-form entry primary school in Kingswinford, who are seeking a dedicated Year 2 Class Teacher to join their team from the half-term until the end of the academic year. This full-time position includes full class teacher responsibilities and offers the potential to become a permanent role from September for the right candidate.
The school is looking for a confident and experienced Key Stage 1 practitioner who can quickly establish strong routines, deliver high-quality teaching, and drive pupil progress through the summer term. As a two-form entry school, you will work alongside a parallel Year 2 teacher, allowing for shared planning, collaboration and consistent practice across the year group. The leadership team is supportive and committed to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.
Responsibilities- Taking full responsibility for a Year 2 class, including planning, preparation, marking and assessment.
- Delivering engaging and challenging lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
- Using assessment effectively to track progress and identify next steps for learning.
- Differentiating work to meet the needs of all learners, including those requiring additional support or challenge.
- Creating a positive and structured classroom environment that promotes high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
- Working collaboratively with the parallel Year 2 teacher to ensure consistency in planning and assessment.
- Preparing pupils effectively for the transition into Key Stage 2.
- Building strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
- Contributing to staff meetings, school events and the wider life of the school.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Proven experience teaching within Key Stage 1.
- A secure understanding of the KS1 curriculum and assessment requirements.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- The ability to plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons that promote progress for all pupils.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- A DBS on the Update Service or issued within the last 12 months.
- A minimum of two excellent professional references.
- A competitive salary of up to £223.62 per day which equates to £43,605 based on working 5 days a week for the full school year (M1–M6 Paid to scale).
