Are you an experienced learning support assistant, hoping to secure your next role from September? Flourish Education are working alongside a wonderful Primary School based in Kingswinford, who are hoping to appoint a full-time LSA starting in September on a long-term basis until July 2027. This learning support assistant role is to work closely with the class teacher to support a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment in Year 4.
The Primary School is looking for a candidate with experience providing small groups intervention for core subjects, with good maths, English and general KS2 knowledge. This role will start in October and continue to July 2027, working on a full-time basis, with the potential to extend into a permanent position.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support to a Year 4 child with complex needs
- Support the child’s learning, emotional regulation, and social development
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider SEN team to implement individual support strategies
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
- Support the child both within the SEN hub and in classroom-based activities where appropriate
Required Skills and Experience for this SEN Teaching Assistant role:
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Previous experience supporting children with complex needs, ideally on a 1:1 basis
- Confidence in managing and reducing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies
- The ability to build strong, trusting relationships with young children
- Good knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum
- A DBS on the update service, or issued within the last 12 months
- A minimum of two excellent references
