Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated KS1 Teacher looking for a full‑time role starting in September?

A welcoming and well‑established Primary School in Halesowen is seeking a passionate Year 1 Teacher to join their team on a full‑time basis from September.

This is a full teaching role, offering an excellent opportunity to take full responsibility for a Year 1 class, including planning, assessment, and wider teaching duties.

The school has a supportive KS1 team in place, making it an ideal environment for teachers who are confident in delivering high‑quality early years transition and Key Stage 1 learning.

The role requires a strong understanding of phonics and early reading development, as this is a key focus within Year 1.

This Year 1 Teacher position would suit both experienced teachers and confident Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with a solid foundation in KS1 practice.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, delivering, and assessing lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Implementing behaviour management strategies to ensure a positive learning environment.
  • Maintaining clear records of pupil progress and providing feedback.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and attending required staff meetings.
  • Ensuring classroom resources and learning activities are well‑prepared.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Previous experience teaching Key Stage 1, ideally Year 1.
  • Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum.
  • A strong understanding of phonics and early reading strategies.
  • Strong classroom management skills and a confident, calm approach.
  • Excellent planning and organisational abilities.
  • A commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
