Overview

SEN Teaching Assistant required for a welcoming Primary School in Quedgeley, rated GOOD by OFSTED. This SEN Teaching Assistant role is unique as you will provide 1:1 support to two pupils in Key Stage 2 (KS2) with neurodiverse needs, helping them access the National Curriculum and manage behaviour choices. Working closely with the Class Teacher, this SEN Teaching Assistant position is full‑time and starts immediately until the end of the academic year.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support as a SEN Teaching Assistant to two pupils in Year 4 and Year 6
  • Support learning in line with the National Curriculum within a Primary School setting
  • Work collaboratively with the Class Teacher to adapt learning activities
  • Assist with behaviour management strategies and emotional support
  • Help pupils engage with classwork and achieve their learning goals
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive Primary School environment

Required Skills and Experience

  • Previous UK school experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or TA is essential
  • Experience supporting pupils in Key Stage 2 (KS2)
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum
  • Ability to work closely with a Class Teacher and wider school staff
  • Experience supporting children with neurodiverse needs
  • Relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • Experience working in a Primary School setting

  • £92.59 to £106.93 per day equates to £18,055.05 to £20,851.36 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year
