A welcoming and inclusive First School in Evesham is seeking a dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join their team full-time, supporting the school's pre-school children. This is a long-term position starting as soon as possible and continuing until July 2027.
The successful candidate will work as part of the school's Early Years team, supporting young children through their early stages of development and helping to create a safe, stimulating and nurturing learning environment.

The successful candidate will help children develop their communication, social, emotional and physical skills through engaging activities and play-based learning.
As an Early Years Practitioner, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the school's pre-school children with their learning and development.
- Providing high-quality care and support within the Early Years environment.
- Planning and supporting engaging, age-appropriate activities and experiences.
- Encouraging children to learn through play, exploration and practical activities.
- Supporting children's communication, language and early literacy development.
- Supporting early numeracy skills through play and structured activities.
- Helping children to develop their social and emotional skills and build positive relationships.
- Developing positive and trusting relationships with children and creating a safe, nurturing environment.
- Encouraging children to become confident and independent learners.
- Supporting children's individual learning and development needs.
- Observing children's development and contributing to assessments and learning records.
- Working closely with the Early Years team and wider school staff to support children's progress.
- Supporting positive behaviour and helping children to understand routines and boundaries.
- Supporting children with daily routines, including mealtimes, toileting and personal care where required.
- Maintaining a safe, stimulating and well-organised learning environment.
To be successful in this Early Years Practitioner role, you will need:
- Previous experience working within an Early Years or pre-school setting.
- Experience working with children aged 3β5 would be highly desirable.
- A relevant Early Years qualification such as Level 2 or Level 3 would be advantageous.
- A strong understanding of Early Years development and the importance of play-based learning.
- A nurturing, patient and caring approach to supporting young children.
- The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of an Early Years team.
- Confidence supporting children's social, emotional and developmental needs.
- A proactive and creative approach to planning and supporting activities.
- The ability to remain calm, patient and consistent when supporting young children.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
- A DBS on the update service, or issued within the last 12 months.
- A minimum of two excellent references.
