A friendly and nurturing Primary School in Dudley is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join their team as a Year 1 Teacher from September on a contracted basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified teacher to begin their teaching career within a school that is committed to supporting ECTs through their induction period. You will be joining a collaborative and experienced team who are dedicated to helping you develop your teaching practice and build confidence in the classroom. This is a full teaching role, where you will take responsibility for a Year 1 class, including planning, assessment, and wider teaching responsibilities, with structured support and mentoring throughout your ECT induction.
Responsibilities
- Planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum
- Taking full responsibility for a Year 1 class, including marking and assessment
- Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners
- Monitoring and tracking pupil progress to ensure strong outcomes
- Working closely with your mentor and senior staff as part of your ECT induction
- Collaborating with colleagues to share best practice and develop your teaching skills
- Communicating effectively with parents, carers, and staff
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be due to achieve QTS by September
- A strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum
- A willingness to learn, develop, and take on feedback
- Good classroom management skills and a proactive approach
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A positive, enthusiastic, and committed attitude to teaching
- A genuine passion for supporting pupils’ learning and development
