Flourish Education is recruiting a Behaviour Support Worker for a KS3/KS4 setting in Dudley, supporting pupils who may have experienced challenges within mainstream education. This Behaviour Support Worker role is ideal for someone with strong behaviour management skills who can build positive relationships with young people and provide consistent support.
This setting works with a high number of permanently excluded children and has a predominantly male pupil cohort. Previous experience as a sports coach would be ideal, although no formal teaching qualifications are required for this Behaviour Support Worker position.
This role is temp-perm. Starting in October 2026 with the view to go permenant in January 2027.
Job Role
- Provide behaviour support to pupils across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4)
- Support pupils who have experienced permanent exclusion from mainstream education
- Build strong, positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Use firm, consistent and effective behaviour management strategies
- Support pupils with engagement, behaviour and their educational development
- Help maintain a structured, safe and supportive learning environment
Required Skills and Experience
- Behaviour Support Worker, Behaviour Mentor, Sports Coach, Youth Worker, Learning Mentor or similar experience
- Experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour
- Strong behaviour management and behaviour support skills
- A firm but relationship-focused approach
- Experience working with KS3 and/or KS4 pupils
- Sports coaching experience would be ideal
- Experience supporting pupils who have been permanently excluded would be beneficial
- No formal teaching qualification required
