Flourish Education are recruiting for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work at one of our partner primary schools in Sedgley, Dudley. This is a full-time role starting after October Half Term and continuing until Christmas 2026.
The school require a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a Year 1 pupil with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The role will involve supporting the pupil to remain engaged in learning, encouraging positive behaviour and participation in classroom activities, as well as providing additional support through small group work.

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 1 pupil with SEMH needs.
- Encouraging engagement with learning activities and supporting the pupil when they are reluctant to complete tasks.
- Supporting emotional regulation, positive behaviour and the development of social skills.
- Delivering small group activities and targeted interventions to support learning and confidence.
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement appropriate support strategies.
Required Skills and Experience as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant:
- Teaching Assistant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification.
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND, particularly SEMH needs, within a UK primary school.
- Good understanding of positive behaviour management and strategies to encourage pupil engagement.
- Experience providing 1:1 support and working with small groups of pupils.
- A patient, resilient and adaptable approach to supporting children with additional needs.
Working as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant for Flourish Education also offers you excellent benefits, including:
- £92.59 to £100.00 per day, equating to £18,055 to £19,500 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year (dependent on experience).
