Flourish Education are currently recruiting Maths Graduates to work as Teaching Assistants, Maths Intervention Tutors and Cover Supervisors within secondary schools across Coventry and the surrounding areas. Are you a Maths Graduate looking to gain experience in a secondary school? Perhaps you are considering becoming a teacher and want to build up your classroom experience before applying for teacher training, or you are looking for a part-time and flexible role that can fit around your existing commitments.

We are looking for confident and enthusiastic Maths Graduates who can support secondary-aged pupils with their Mathematics. This could involve working one-to-one with pupils, delivering small-group interventions, supporting GCSE revision or helping pupils who have fallen behind to catch up with their learning. With a range of part-time, flexible, long-term and day-to-day opportunities available, this role could suit a Maths Graduate looking to work a few days per week while gaining valuable experience within education.

You may also have the opportunity to work as a Cover Supervisor, providing whole-class cover when required and developing valuable skills in classroom management, communication and lesson delivery.

The role will involve:

  • Supporting pupils with Maths on a one-to-one basis
  • Delivering small-group Maths interventions
  • Supporting KS3 and KS4 pupils
  • Helping pupils prepare for GCSE Maths
  • Delivering Maths revision and catch-up sessions
  • Supporting pupils who lack confidence in Mathematics
  • Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
  • Supporting pupils with SEN and additional learning needs
  • Explaining mathematical concepts in a clear and accessible way
  • Working alongside Maths teachers and other school staff
  • Building positive and professional relationships with pupils
  • Providing whole-class cover where required

Required Skills and Experience for this Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant role:

  • Maths degree or related subject
  • Strong Maths subject knowledge
  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable
  • UK school experience is desirable
  • Experience supporting KS3 and KS4 pupils
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly
  • Ability to motivate and encourage pupils
  • Patient and supportive approach
  • Experience working with pupils with SEN is desirable
  • Reliable, flexible and professional approach
  • Interest in pursuing a career in education is desirable

Working for Flourish Education as a Teaching Assistant, you will receive:

  • £92.59 to £100 day rate, which equates to approximately £17,340 to £19,500 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year

This Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant opportunity is based across the south and east of Coventry and the surrounding areas. We are particularly interested in candidates who are able to travel to schools in areas including Finham, Binley, Willenhall, Walsgrave, Stoke Aldermoor, Whitley, Cheylesmore and Exhall. Opportunities may also be suitable for candidates based in nearby Warwickshire areas including Kenilworth, Warwick, Leamington Spa, Baginton and Ryton-on-Dunsmore, depending on the location of the school. The schools we work with benefit from good transport links and are accessible by both car and public transport. Whether you are looking for one or two days a week, regular part-time work or a longer-term opportunity, this could be an excellent way to gain experience working with secondary-aged pupils while developing your classroom skills.
