Flourish Education is recruiting a Food Technology Teacher for a secondary school in Coventry, starting in September 2026 and continuing until July 2027. This is a long‑term opportunity to teach Food Technology across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 and support students throughout the academic year. The successful candidate will take responsibility for planning and delivering Food Technology lessons, assessing pupil progress, and managing practical activities within the classroom. You will help students develop their knowledge of food, nutrition, preparation, and cooking while maintaining appropriate health and safety standards.

Job Role:

  • Teach Food Technology across KS3 and KS4
  • Plan and deliver practical and theory-based lessons
  • Develop students' knowledge of food preparation, nutrition, and cooking
  • Monitor and assess student progress
  • Provide clear feedback to support improvement
  • Organise equipment and resources for practical lessons
  • Follow health and safety procedures during practical activities
  • Maintain effective behaviour management
  • Work with colleagues within the Design and Technology department

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – ECTs are welcome to apply
  • Previous experience teaching Food Technology within a secondary school
  • Strong subject knowledge and practical food preparation skills
  • Ability to plan and deliver lessons independently
  • Good classroom and behaviour management
  • Knowledge of health and safety within Food Technology
  • Ability to adapt lessons for different abilities and needs
  • A satisfactory reference from your most recent employer
