Business Teacher

Flourish Education are recruiting for a Business Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Selly Oak. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and dedicated teacher to take on a long-term maternity cover, teaching Business across the secondary age range and becoming a valued member of the school community. The successful Business Teacher will take on full teaching responsibilities, including planning, marking and assessment. You will deliver engaging Business lessons across KS3 and KS4, adapting your teaching to meet the needs of different learners and maintaining high expectations throughout. This Business Teacher role is due to start in September 2026 and will provide maternity cover for the full academic year, making it an ideal opportunity for someone looking for a secure long-term position.

Job Role

• Deliver engaging Business lessons across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4)
• Take full responsibility for planning, preparation, marking and assessment
• Follow the relevant curriculum and adapt lessons to meet the needs of all learners
• Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing constructive feedback
• Maintain strong classroom management and high expectations for behaviour
• Create an engaging learning environment that encourages participation and achievement
• Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents
• Contribute to the wider Business department and school community

Required Skills and Experience

• Business Teacher, Secondary Teacher, Business ECT or Supply Teacher
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Early Career Teacher (ECT)
• Strong subject knowledge in Business
• Experience teaching Business within a UK Secondary School
• Good understanding of the KS3 and KS4 curriculum
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• Ability to plan and deliver high-quality lessons independently
• A passion for supporting students to achieve their academic potential

This Business Teacher position is based in Selly Oak, Birmingham, and is easily commutable from Harborne, Edgbaston, Bournville, Northfield, Kings Norton, Quinton, Bartley Green, Moseley and surrounding areas.
