Flourish Education are currently recruiting Maths Graduates with a UK university degree and a good understanding of the UK Secondary Maths curriculum to work as Teaching Assistants, Maths Intervention Tutors and Cover Supervisors within secondary schools across Bromsgrove and the surrounding areas.

We are looking for enthusiastic Maths Graduates to support pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4. The role could involve supporting pupils individually or in small groups, delivering Maths interventions, helping with GCSE revision or providing additional support to pupils who need help with particular areas of the Maths curriculum.

With part-time, flexible and longer-term opportunities available, this role is ideal for graduates who want to gain valuable secondary school experience while maintaining flexibility around their other commitments.

The role will involve:

  • Providing one-to-one Maths support
  • Working with small groups of pupils
  • Delivering targeted Maths interventions
  • Supporting KS3 and KS4 pupils
  • Supporting GCSE Maths revision and booster sessions
  • Helping pupils prepare for GCSE examinations
  • Supporting pupils with different areas of the Maths curriculum
  • Helping pupils develop confidence and engagement in Maths
  • Supporting pupils who have gaps in their subject knowledge
  • Supporting pupils with SEN and additional learning needs
  • Making complex mathematical concepts accessible to pupils
  • Working alongside Maths teachers and wider school staff
  • Building positive relationships with pupilsProviding whole-class cover where required

Required Skills and Experience for this Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant role:

  • Maths degree or closely related subject from a UK university
  • Ideally a 2:1 degree or above, although graduates with other degree classifications will also be considered
  • Strong understanding of the UK Secondary Maths curriculum
  • Good knowledge of KS3 and KS4 Maths and GCSE content
  • Strong Maths subject knowledge
  • Ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and in an accessible way
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate young people
  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable
  • Previous school experience is desirable
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN is desirable
  • Patient, positive and enthusiastic approach
  • Professional and reliable approach
  • Flexible approach to working hours
  • Interest in education, teaching or working with young people is desirable

Working for Flourish Education as a Teaching Assistant, you will receive:

  • £92.59 to £100 day rate, which equates to approximately £17,340 to £19,500 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year

Depending on the location of the school, opportunities may also be accessible from nearby parts of Worcestershire and Birmingham.
