This is a part-time position, working Monday to Friday from 8:30am until 3:30pm within their brand-new nursery, supporting children aged 2 to 4 years. There is also the opportunity to work longer days for those interested, as the school offers wraparound care, although this is entirely optional. This role is ideal for a passionate Nursery Practitioner who enjoys supporting young children during the important early stages of their development. Working within the new nursery provision, you will help create a nurturing, stimulating, and engaging environment where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to develop through play and exploration. As a Nursery Practitioner, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the planning and delivery of engaging, play-based learning activities.
- Creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment for children aged 2 to 4 years.
- Supporting children's communication, language, literacy, and numeracy development.
- Encouraging children's personal, social, and emotional development.
- Promoting positive behaviour and supporting children to develop independence.
- Observing, assessing, and monitoring children's progress, providing feedback where appropriate.
- Supporting children's personal care needs when required.
- Preparing and organising learning resources and activities.
- Building positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Supporting both indoor and outdoor learning experiences.
To be successful in this Nursery Practitioner role, you will need:
- A minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification.
- Previous experience working within a nursery, preschool, or school-based Early Years setting.
- A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, caring, and nurturing approach.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A flexible, reliable, and professional attitude.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to use initiative.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
