Flourish Education is currently recruiting for a Science Teacher to work in a supportive and high-achieving secondary school. This exciting opportunity is ideal for a passionate teacher who can inspire students across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4). The successful Science Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, marking work, assessing progress, and carrying out full class teacher responsibilities. Whether you are an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT), we would love to hear from you. The role is due to start as soon as possible and may continue into September.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging Science lessons across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4) in line with the National Curriculum
  • Undertake full class responsibilities including planning, preparation, assessment, and marking
  • Monitor student progress and provide targeted support to maximise achievement
  • Maintain high expectations of behaviour and learning throughout the classroom
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Secondary School to support departmental objectives
  • Contribute positively to the wider life of the Secondary School
Required Skills and Experience
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
  • Applications welcomed from an Early Career Teacher (ECT) or experienced Secondary Teacher
  • Previous experience teaching Science within a Secondary School environment
  • Excellent subject knowledge across the Science curriculum
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum
  • Experience teaching Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4)
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • Ability to plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Experience as a Science Teacher, Secondary Teacher, Teacher, Classroom Teacher, or Subject Specialist is desirable
Benefits
  • £168 to £232 per day, which equates to £32,256 to £45,240 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year, dependent on experience

Location

This position is based in Kings Norton and is easily commutable from Northfield, Longbridge, Kings Heath, Bournville, Cotteridge, and Stirchley. The school benefits from excellent transport links from across Birmingham and the surrounding areas, with onsite parking available for staff.
