Flourish Education is recruiting for a Head of Year to join a secondary school in Kings Heath on a full-time, temp-to-permanent basis. This Head of Year role is ideal for an experienced pastoral professional who is passionate about supporting students’ wellbeing, personal development and welfare. This is a part time vacancy 3 days a week.
The school is looking for a committed Head of Year who can build strong relationships with students, parents and staff while providing effective pastoral support. The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and technical skills, strong problem-solving abilities and the confidence to manage behaviour and attendance.
Job Role
- Act as the main point of contact for students, parents and teachers regarding student wellbeing and personal development
- Provide effective pastoral care and ensure student welfare remains at the heart of the school
- Monitor and track attendance, punctuality and daily conduct
- Apply school policies and run appropriate interventions where standards slip
- Provide UCAS support to students
- Build positive relationships with students, parents and staff
- Work collaboratively as part of the wider school team
Required Skills and Experience
- Head of Year, Pastoral Lead, Pastoral Manager or similar experience
- Experience working within a secondary school environment
- Strong understanding of pastoral care and student wellbeing
- Excellent organisational and technical skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
