Flourish Education are recruiting for an EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School in the Northfield area. This is a full-time role starting in September 2026 and is expected to continue on a long-term basis until July 2027.

The role will involve supporting pupils within the Early Years Foundation Stage, working closely with the class teacher to support children's learning, development and wellbeing through play-based learning opportunities. The school is looking for a nurturing, proactive and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who can help create a positive and engaging learning environment and support children to develop both academically and socially.

Responsibilities as an EYFS Teaching Assistant:

  • Supporting teaching and learning within the EYFS classroom
  • Assisting with play-based learning activities and daily routines
  • Supporting children's social, emotional and academic development
  • Working closely with the class teacher and wider Early Years team
  • Helping to create a safe, engaging and nurturing learning environment
  • Supporting pupils with phonics, early reading and numeracy activities
  • Following the school's policies and procedures

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
  • Experience working within EYFS or Nursery settings is desirable
  • A good understanding of the EYFS framework
  • Knowledge of phonics schemes, such as Little Wandle, is beneficial
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A proactive, patient and supportive approach
