DT Food Tech Teacher in Birmingham

Flourish Education are recruiting for a DT and Food Technology Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Sheldon, Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and dedicated teacher to teach Design Technology and Food Technology, supporting students to develop their practical skills, creativity and subject knowledge.

The successful DT and Food Technology Teacher will deliver engaging lessons, helping students develop their understanding of design principles, practical techniques and food preparation. The successful candidate will encourage participation, maintain high expectations and create a positive learning environment.

This DT and Food Technology Teacher role is available to start immediately and is full-time, Monday to Friday, making it an excellent opportunity for a teacher looking for a new position within a secondary school.

Job Role

• Deliver engaging Design Technology and Food Technology lessons

• Plan and prepare lessons in line with the relevant curriculum

• Support students in developing their practical skills and subject knowledge

• Adapt teaching to meet the needs of different learners

• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback

• Maintain effective classroom and behaviour management

• Create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment

• Build positive relationships with students and colleagues

Required Skills and Experience

• DT and Food Technology Teacher, Secondary Teacher or Supply Teacher

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Early Career Teacher (ECT)

• Strong subject knowledge in Design Technology and Food Technology

• Experience teaching within a UK secondary school

• Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons

• Effective classroom and behaviour management skills

• A passion for supporting students to achieve their potential

• Availability to work full-time, Monday to Friday, starting immediately

This DT and Food Technology Teacher position is based in Sheldon, Birmingham, and is easily commutable from Yardley, Acocks Green, Hall Green, Solihull, Small Heath, Stechford, Sparkhill and surrounding areas. The location is accessible for teachers travelling from across Birmingham and the surrounding West Midlands.
