Are you an enthusiastic Computer Science Teacher looking for your next opportunity? Flourish Education are recruiting for a dedicated teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Handsworth. We are looking for a passionate Computer Science Teacher who can deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The role would suit an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to develop their experience within a supportive secondary school. The successful candidate will plan and deliver high-quality Computer Science lessons, monitor student progress and create a positive classroom environment where pupils are encouraged to participate and develop their understanding of the subject. This role is due to start in October 2026 and will continue until the end of the academic year.

Job Role

  • Teach Computer Science across KS3 and KS4
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop students' theoretical and practical computing skills
  • Follow the National Curriculum and adapt teaching to meet different learning needs
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback
  • Establish clear expectations and maintain effective classroom behaviour
  • Encourage students to develop confidence and problem-solving skills
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Computer Science and wider school team
  • Contribute to departmental planning and wider school initiatives

Required Skills and Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Early Career Teacher (ECT)
  • Previous experience teaching Computer Science within a UK Secondary School
  • Strong subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4 Computer Science
  • Good understanding of the National Curriculum and assessment requirements
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate students through effective teaching
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team

  • Pay from £174.71 to £240.70 per day, equating to £34,068 to £46,937 per annum based on working five days a week for a full school year, dependent on experience (M1‑M6)
