We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and organized SENDCo to work across SEN schools within the South Birmingham area. These will be full-time positions, working Monday to Friday from 8:15am until 3:30pm.

The role will focus heavily on the administrative and coordination side of SEND provision, and we are looking for someone who is confident managing a busy workload while ensuring all SEND processes are completed efficiently and in line with statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities will include managing EHCP reviews, consultation paperwork, annual review documentation, and maintaining accurate SEND records and general paperwork across the schools. You will work closely with leadership teams, teaching staff, external professionals, and families to ensure pupils receive the appropriate support and provision.

Alongside the administrative responsibilities, there may also be occasional teaching required where needed, so flexibility and a hands‐on approach are essential.

We are looking for an experienced, proactive, and compassionate SEND professional who has strong organisational skills, excellent communication, and a passion for supporting pupils with additional needs across specialist education settings.

The SENDCo Role:

Managing and overseeing SEND provision and documentation across SEN schools within the South Birmingham area

Coordinating EHCP reviews, annual reviews, consultation paperwork, and maintaining accurate SEND records

Completing and managing general SEND administration and statutory documentation in line with deadlines

Liaising with parents, carers, external agencies, leadership teams, and teaching staff to support pupil outcomes

Supporting the implementation and monitoring of SEND support plans and interventions

Providing guidance and support to staff regarding SEND processes and pupil needs

Monitoring pupil progress and ensuring appropriate support is in place across the schools

Supporting with occasional teaching duties where required within SEN classrooms

Working collaboratively with SEN Teachers, Teaching Assistants, and senior leaders to ensure high‐quality provision

Ensuring compliance with SEND policies, procedures, and local authority requirements

Required Skills and Experience for this SENDCo Role:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or SENDCo qualification

Experience in roles such as SENCo, SLD Teacher, SEND Teacher, or Inclusion Coordinator

Strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including SLD and ASD

Experience working in a special school, PRU, or inclusive mainstream setting

Familiarity with strategies for managing behaviour and supporting children with emotional and behavioural challenges

Good understanding of SEND legislation, policies, and procedures

Strong IT and administrative skills, including maintaining accurate pupil records and reports

Strong knowledge of EHCP processes, annual reviews, and SEND documentation

Previous experience working within a SENDCo or SEN administration role

A nurturing, empathetic, and flexible teaching style

Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
