HLTA in Alcester

A three-form-entry primary school in Alcester is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team, starting as soon as possible and continuing through to February 2027.

This is a full-time HLTA position, covering classes across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, offering valuable experience across all primary age groups. In this Higher Level Teaching Assistant role, you will play an important part in ensuring continuity of learning by leading whole-class sessions in the absence of the class teacher. The role is full-time, working Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

As an HLTA, your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering pre-planned lessons across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 in the absence of the class teacher.
• Managing classroom behaviour effectively and promoting a positive learning environment.
• Supporting pupils’ learning and engagement across a variety of subjects.
• Adapting teaching approaches to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional needs.
• Working closely with teaching staff to ensure consistency and continuity across classes.
• Providing feedback on pupil progress and classroom activities.

To be successful in this HLTA role, you will need:

• HLTA status or equivalent qualifications and experience.
• Previous experience covering classes within a primary school setting.
• Strong behaviour management skills and confidence leading a class.
• A flexible and adaptable approach to working across all primary year groups.
• A proactive and positive attitude towards supporting learning.

• £92.59 to £100.00 per day, equating to £18,049 to £19,500 per annum. (Based on experience)
