The predicted salary is between 50000 - 60000 £ per year.

The Electrical Engineering Lead will be primarily based in the office managing the day-to-day operations of the electrical design and commissioning team including high level process and electrical design & instrumentation selection. This will also include assisting with preparation & conducting system inspections (FATs) with customers in attendance and assisting with onsite commissioning and varied tasks at times and as such, you will be required to travel to customer sites.

  • Manage and support Electrical Design and Commissioning team including annual appraisals
  • Responsibility for all electrical and commissioning aspects of projects
  • Grow and develop the team to support company growth
  • Review/develop project maps, leading to placement of Purchase Order requests
  • Manage approval process for electrical designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications (P&ID, Technical Drawings, Wiring Diagrams, Instrument Hook-ups, Control Philosophy documents, Functional Design Specs etc)
  • Participate/support in activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, resolving engineering design and test problems
  • Propose/Review suitable electrical components for projects (Instrumentation, Valves, Pumps, Switch Gear, PLCs etc)
  • Support/Participation in Factory Acceptance Test planning and execution
  • Provide technical support to commercial team on project tenders
  • Manage project schedule and provide updates to project managers and/or customers
  • Develop/maintain knowledge & understanding Explosive Atmospheres (ISO/IEC 80079-34)
  • Any other duties for which you are experienced and qualified and capable of undertaking that will add value and at the request of Line Manager or other Senior Management

Qualifications

  • Minimum HNC Level in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in an electrical design field
  • Committed to a career in the Electrical Engineering Profession
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Sound knowledge of IT, including use of Microsoft applications
  • Aware & understanding of Quality, Environmental, Safety & Explosive Atmospheres Standards & working procedures
  • Use of design software (AutoCAD LT)
  • Understanding of controllers / PLCs / VSDs
  • Ability to perform related administration tasks
  • To be able to work independently & as part of a team
  • Possess good time management skills, being punctual and organised
  • Knowledge of the Petrochemical industry / ATEX Requirements / Similar Engineering environment an advantage
