The Organisation
Allergy Therapeutics is an AIM-listed, international commercial biotechnology company focused on the treatment and diagnosis of allergic disorders, including immunotherapy vaccines with the potential to cure disease. The Group has offices in England, Germany, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland and Austria. We manufacture subcutaneous and sublingual immunotherapy treatments for a wide range of allergic conditions including those caused by pollens, venom and house dust mites. We have various products in clinical development including treatments for peanut allergic patients.
The Opportunity
Having this year started to grow a hybrid-working legal, governance and compliance team in the UK, we are looking for another lawyer to join us, reporting to the Group Legal Director and Company Secretary. With us, at this stage of your career you'll be ready to provide guidance on a wide range of legal matters such as contracts, compliance, litigation, employment law, data protection, intellectual property and corporate governance, sometimes with the assistance of external lawyers. All roles within the team are highly visible offering extensive collaboration with both the executive leadership team and senior management, allowing you to build strong relationships and have a direct impact at every level.
The Candidate
The minimum requirements are that you are a UK-qualified corporate and commercial solicitor or legal counsel. You will need demonstrable experience in contract law, sound legal training from private practice or another in-house legal department. You don't need experience of the pharmaceuticals or bio-technology sectors – so this role is ideal if you are looking to move in-house for the very first time, or add another industry to your CV. Any other experience that you have in things like litigation, IP, governance and other areas of compliance will be advantageous – but again not essential. If you like variety in a role, this will be available to you since the team is still small.
Critical Success Factors
- Attention to detail balanced with commercial awareness and the ability to tackle the most important issues.
- An understanding of business objectives and the drive to provide solutions that result in the achievement of key goals.
- Comfortable with high levels of responsibility.
- Communication and influencing skills to help key stakeholders develop and maintain an understanding of legal concepts and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to build and nurture good working relationships with colleagues at all levels, across various countries and cultures.

- Collaborative support from other in-house legal colleagues and external lawyers.
- Variety of work.
- Visibility among senior management and the executive leadership team.
