Newest Children’s Home – Be Part of Building Something Special
This isn’t just a Senior role. It’s a chance to help build a home. Florinee Homes has opened its newest children’s home, and we’re looking for a Senior Residential Childcare Worker who wants more than “just another job”. This home is still growing - its culture, routines, and ways of working are being shaped right now. We want someone who cares deeply about children, but who also wants to set standards, lead by example, and leave their mark on a home from the ground up. If you believe children thrive when adults are consistent, reflective and genuinely present - you’ll fit here.
What Makes Florinee Different
- Relationships matter just as much as routines
- Strong teams create safe homes
- Children deserve adults who show up, stay steady, and really listen
As a Senior, you are a key part of making this real - every shift, every interaction, every decision.
Your Role as a Senior at Florinee
Alongside providing direct care, you will:
- Help shape the culture of a brand‑new home
- Lead shifts with confidence, compassion and clarity
- Mentor and support Residential Childcare Workers, especially newer staff
- Role‑model high‑quality, trauma‑informed practice
- Make sure safeguarding is lived, not just written
- Support meaningful key work and care planning
- Bring calm leadership during challenges and change
- Work closely with managers to grow a stable, united team
You’ll still be hands‑on - this is not a desk role - but your influence will be felt well beyond your shift.
Who We’re Looking For
You are someone who:
- Has solid experience in children’s residential care
- Is ready to step up or continue developing as a Senior
- Understands that leadership is about behaviour, not job titles
- Can balance warmth with boundaries
- Is reflective, resilient and emotionally intelligent
- Wants to help build something, not just inherit it
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Children and Young People (or equivalent)
- Experience working in a children’s residential home
- Confidence supporting staff and leading shifts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility to work a rota including sleep‑ins
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Holds a full UK driving licence
What You’ll Get at Florinee
- Real involvement in shaping a new home
- Supportive, visible leadership
- Structured induction and ongoing development
- Clear progression opportunities as the organisation grows
- Enhanced payments for sleep‑ins
- A workplace where your voice is heard and your values matter
