Why join Florinee Homes? If you’re looking for a children’s home where care, consistency and staff support genuinely matter, Florinee Homes could be the right next step for you. We are a growing organisation with established homes and a clear vision — to provide safe, calm, nurturing environments where children and staff can thrive. Our teams are close‑knit, our managers are visible and hands‑on, and we are realistic about how challenging (and rewarding) this work can be. This is not a tick‑box service. You will be supported, trained properly, and given the space to build meaningful relationships with young people.
The role: As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will play a vital role in providing consistent, child‑centred care to children living in our homes. This role is about presence, patience, and professionalism — creating a safe base where children feel understood, supported, and encouraged to develop. You won’t be expected to “know everything” on day one. We provide a structured induction, regular supervision, and a team culture where asking for support is encouraged.
What you’ll be doing:
- Providing day‑to‑day care and emotional support to children in line with their individual needs
- Building positive, trusting relationships that promote safety, stability, and self‑esteem
- Supporting children with routines, education, activities, and life skills
- Working alongside colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure holistic care
- Maintaining clear and accurate records in line with safeguarding and regulatory requirements
- Contributing to a calm, organised, and respectful home environment
What we’re looking for:
- Experience working with children or young people in a residential, care, or similar setting is desirable (but not essential)
- A good understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
- Strong communication skills and a calm, empathetic approach
- The ability to work well as part of a team and take responsibility when needed
- Resilience, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting children
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and sleep‑ins
What we offer:
- Competitive hourly rate: £13.67 – £13.97
- Permanent, contracted hours — no zero‑hour uncertainty
- Comprehensive induction and ongoing training that’s meaningful, not tick‑box
- Regular supervision, mentoring, and management support
- A stable, supportive team environment
- Employee Assistance Programme and wellbeing support
- Career development opportunities as we continue to grow
- Holiday entitlement and pension in line with statutory requirements
Safeguarding: Florinee Homes Ltd is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All roles are subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check and compliance with safer recruitment requirements.
Interested? If you’re looking for a role where your work truly matters, and you want to be part of a team that values care, structure, and support, we’d love to hear from you.
